Katharine Harris was born on May 18, 1904 on Twelfth Street in Oak Cliff. She graduated from Oak Cliff High School as valedictorian in 1921 and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in music in violin from Southern Methodist University. Katharine was very active in the music scene in Dallas. She taught violin at several Oak Cliff elementary schools, was active in Mu Phi Epsilon, Dallas Music Teachers' Association and the Elmer Scott Chamber Music series, forerunner of the Dallas Chamber Music ...
